Re: Sand Ladder Group Buy (Feeler)

We used the same thing for HUMVEE's on the beach although they really didn't need them. Interesting to some, I actually surveyed the probable PSP runway for the Doolittle Raiders training last month. PSP does work BTW.

Re: Sand Ladder Group Buy (Feeler)

You could put me down for a set, maybe 2.
These would be awsome for the beach.

White Owl - Equipment

$35 for a 10' section
That's about right for a 10' piece and for another $30 they cut them to size and texture coat them and for $30 more they ship them anywhere in the lower 48. I checked the shipping cost from where they are to my office. It was $32 and change. I think their price is fair, but then I don't have a plasma torch or any other metal cutting equipment and I'm also lacking in the texture coat applying department. I ordered up a pair so I can check them out before making this a full scale group buy.

Also, keep in mind, this is just a "feeler" thread to see if there's enough interest in the product to warrant the time and effort for a group buy. I found what has the potential to be a good buy on a functional piece of recovery equipment and I wanted to pass the deal along. If anyone else is interested, then please chime in. If not, no biggie.

Regardless of whether or not this becomes an official GB, I'll pass along the contact info for the company to those that are interested ASSUMING that the ladders I ordered meet my expectations.

Re: Sand Ladder Group Buy (Feeler)

I got these in yesterday. They look pretty stout. I'm going to try to test them out this weekend at the Padre Island National Sea Shore. Mir207 how did you mount yours on your rack? Also how bad is it driving down the highway with them up there?

Re: Sand Ladder Group Buy (Feeler)

I am leaning toward these kind of "waffle boards".

Work well as both sand ladders and for bridging.

OKoffroad.com Equipment - Waffle Boards

They would fit well laying flat on my ARB rack.
