Re: Welcome Magnaflow

Thank you Rubicon, I noticed in post 18 something about Dollars and babies. I must say I am confused by this concept. Also something about Dyno. Does this refer to the oil reserves ? Maybe someone could clear this up for me.....

Edit: I am always in search of more performance (power/weight philosophy, justified by $$$/hp)

Re: Welcome Magnaflow

So then if I understand this correctly there is really some huge gain from installing this Magnaflow. Could you substanciate this theory, ie. 239 HP stock vs. HP w/Magnaflow.

Re: Welcome Magnaflow

No, I need Magnaflow to give me dynos. They do testing on many of their other systems, with dyno charts and all. But nothing on the FJ. Not sure I want to spend $600 on something that *looks* better, and may sound louder, without knowing what output/performance the system has to offer. The info is very important...

If I can get extra power, say 5-6 hp, it may justify the upgrade.

Re: Welcome Magnaflow

Well I have not Dyno'ed the FJ BUT have any of you read my write-up about the experiment I conducted with my 01 SS? (relative to the dyno and the Magnaflow)

Apples being apples, I believe the science is applicable.

OHhhhh Man... Your gonna make me do this again aren't ya?

Can't I just tell you how old and smart I am and how many years I've been racing and if you want the best - Buy a Magnaflow. If you want a noise maker - buy a Flowmaster.

No, I believe you. Point is, if there's not much of a difference, I'll stick with stock. If I buy, I'll buy Magnaflow, no doubt. I like the design. But there's no worksheets on performance. And I don't want a noise maker. In fact, they have a sound clip of the thing and I haven't listened to it yet. I want performance sheets.

I am wetting myself trying to contain my excitement and patience for the TRD SC. I figure a new cat-back exhaust might satisfy my cravings. For now.

Edit: I take it you have one of these things. How's the butt dyno?
