question for you guys at magnaflow

ok, well i have a trd exhaust, and i am sorry to say that its just not cutting it for me. i want it to be a little louder and deeper. now, i know its not gonna sound like a V8, but i also dont want it to sound like a honda. im not really wanting to spend another 500+ on another exhaust system, so i was wondering, would a set of magnaflow cat. converters help me achieve what i want?

thanks.
-mike

Re: question for you guys at magnaflow

I know nothing about magnaflow... But I have a preference to stay away from thin metal mufflers... My Stock one got some bent over ends and dents from rocks...

So I just added a SuperSeries40 DeltaFlowII Flowmaster to mine... It is up at their top end of their loadest street muffler, But since its made from like 1/8" steel... it is quiet inside... a little quieter then the TRD... But when riding along a JerseyBarrier, You can hear the Deeper sound...

Nowhere near the sound of my past 318, 302 or 351w... But better than my Stocker, and I don't have to worry aboout the rocks now, its up higher than the stock too due to the smaller size, also, it was cut right in to my stock pipes... (2 1/2 in center - 2 1/2 out offset)

Re: question for you guys at magnaflow

No... I just added on this past weekend, It was raining, so instead of doing it myself, I went to a local shop and gave them forty bucks(including tip) to chop and weld it on...

Re: question for you guys at magnaflow

Highflow cats will increase exhaust volume but not by much. You can expect MAYBE a 1-2 decibel increase.

Re: question for you guys at magnaflow

if the cats are not installed in the correct location in relations to the o2 sensors you will trigger a Check Engine Light. It is only recommended to change your converters after 8 years/80,000 miles or if they have failed.
