Thumbs up Magnaflow Rocks!!!

I first installed the TRD cat back system, it was ok, I mean it definately gave it a little more throatiness, but the muffler developed hotspots and the sound began to change. Opinion: Don't buy the TRD set (when I bought it last June it was over $600 @ the dealer (couldn't wait for other systems). Then I decided to really go at it and took the FJ over to Andy at Classic Muffler in San Jose, CA. I've gone with Flowmaster before, but Andy loves Magnaflow and now I do too. He started by installing the JBA Ti-Ceramic headers, followed by two 94306 Magnaflow 2.5" cats, new crossover, followed by a Magnaflow 2.5" straight-thru muffler. My rig sounds awesome!!! Many compliments have been bestowed.

Blue Skies,
Chris Fox

Re: Magnaflow Rocks!!!

How can you compare a catback to a complete exhaust change? Of course they are going to be different. You changed the headers and cats with high performance.

I wonder what the actual comparison between the Magnaflow and TRD is like? I'm a big Magnaflow fan myself. I bet it has a better sound. I'm getting annoyed with the TRD... it only sounds good at WOT... and then it could be better.

Also, you said not to get the TRD because of cost... well how much did this system cost?

Sorry to dig up an old thread. Just curious.
