Maintenance TechThis forum is for discussion of all aspects of maintenance that should be performed on the FJ Cruiser to keep it operating at maximum efficiency.
A buddy of mine just bought this the other day and I helped him put it together. What a steal for the money, especially if you get it on sale currently at $180 less the 20% off coupon. (coupon below)
Fit and finish is excellent - everything went together without a snag, there was extra hardware included if you lost something, all of the holes lined up perfectly, and nothing was unfinished from the factory. The red powdercoating is evenly applied and had zero flaws - the only scratches in the entire thing came from us putting it together.
Build quality is superb - all drawers ride on good quality ball bearing slides, all metal panels are actually quite thick, every drawer is lined with rubber, there are gas cylinders for the "hood" on top, and even the casters are VERY heavy duty w/grease fittings for both the wheel AND swivel bearings!
Comparing these to what's available from Sears/Craftsman, I have to say that it absolutely puts everything there to shame. The Sears stuff has severely dropped in quality over the years, but this cart far surpasses what they carry even for triple the price.
So go check it out at the store if you have one around. You will not be let down!
The sale price of $179.99 runs until January 4th.
Here is the 20% off coupon I mentioned above plus some others:

Re: Harbor Freight Five Drawer Service Cart - Pass! (Not Fail)
Thanks for the review. I've looked at some of Harbor Freight's other stuff similar to this cart and it was absolute junk. Looks like one of their buyers must have screwed up and ordered something decent for a change.

You definately have to pick and choose at Harbor Freight. They sell a lot of junk, but have some pretty good deals on stuff that's actually decent too. Their $10 plier set are actually pretty good tools. Their $10 scredriver set on the other hand...

Agreed. In fact another model they have for $30 less is of significantly lower quality. However, the line of tool chests the carry under the same brand name (US General) are actually quite good.

Just FYI.... Online it's showing up as $229 and the coupon is only good at the stores. (nearest one to me is over 100 miles away).

Thanks, I forgot to mention the sale pricing is only good in stores. Sorry!

"On this blog, they’ve posted a list I’ve found in several places and in various forms. The list of course is the things one should never buy at Harbor Freight:
Parachutes
Fire Extinguishers
Pacemakers
Vaccines
Birth Control
Elevators
Bullet Proof Vests
Trigger Locks
Pitons
Scuba Gear
Airbags
Motorcycle Helmets"

Re: Harbor Freight Five Drawer Service Cart - Pass! (Not Fail)
I basically go to harbor freight if i need a "ill only need that once in a blue moon" type tool. As an example, I needed to cut some tile, and they had a wet tile saw for like 50 bucks or some absurdly cheap amount. An hour later, everything was cut and done on a machine that was cheaper to buy than to RENT some other place. (Sure, it probably wouldnt last a week in a commercial environment)
I also love their selection. Screw drivers, sockets, wrenches, wooden model airplane... wait what?
