I would like to drop my factory oil in a few weeks when I hit 5000 miles. Did you have to buy a oil cap socket to loosen the the factory oil filter cover? thanks
I've been changing my own oil for years on both my 2010 and 2013 FJs. I used to use a cheap filter wrench that was supposedly the right size. It was a hassle. Another member of the forum suggested the Assenmacher TOY 640 Socket Wrench made for Toyotas and Lexus vehicles. What a difference! I highly recommend this tool. I bought mine on Amazon for about $17.00 plus shipping.

Re: Oil Capacity with Oil and Filter change?

My '14 6MT comes in FRI, and I want to run the largest Amsoil filter I can. What is the filter number and do these tools fit that filter? Thanks Guys.

Both those tools fit the oil filter cannister and both are metal. The PBT71113 has slots on the bottom that grip the housing wings and thats the one I use.
