I've always read mixed reviews on RP (at my other turbo forum). I guess it's ok for the FJ, so I'll give it a go on my next oil change.. it's been sitting in my garage forever. I hope 10-40 isn't too thick. .hopefully it'll be ok, since it's been pretty hot lately.

been doing my own for years...will likely let Toyota do my first since it is included....but after that I will do the air filter, oil filter, oil, differential and everything else....

good luck and thanks for your service.....i just retired a couple years ago. sometimes I miss it...sometimes I dont....still proud of my service and those of you that continue to serve. God Bless.

I just changed over to Royal Purple for the front and rear diffs, transfer case and engine. I'll do the transmission next week. I bought the Royal Purple at Pep Boys.

To put the oil in the front diff I used a short length of clear tubing from Lowe's. Cost about 17 cents a foot. Put the spout of the bottle in one end and the other end in the fill hole and squeeze the bottle... Just call me Mr. Low Tech...

I asked the mechanic where i work about RP, he said since i only have 100 miles on my FJ i should wait untill its 1st service or it wont run in the engine correctly, is this sound advice?
