VSC indicator

A few days ago I started the Cruiser and had 4 indicators stay lit.
They were the CHECK ENGINE...SLIP INDICATOR..VSC TRAC..VSC OFF.
Didnt noticed any change in driving and 4-wheel drive is still working.
I removed the negative cable from the battery and the same indicator lights have NOT come back. Everything is back to normal as far as warning lights go. Should I take it in to the service center and have it checked.
Or should I wait to take it in, if it does it again?

Re: VSC indicator

You might want to keep your eye on it .. I had the same thing happen to me but the lights did not go off when I unplugged the battery. They came right back on!! Turns out I had a rat chew up my No2 sensor and that threw a code to the computer.. Not saying you have rat damage but when I was going through it several people told me that had the same issue with lights, but they were able to get them to turn off by unplugging the batt. I would not worry about it unless they all turn on again.

Thanks for the reply..I will definitely keep an eye on it.
Had planned to take it in this morning if the indicators came back on.
But nothing so far.

Re: VSC indicator

Finally took the Cruiser in to have them look at a few things. Turned out that the locking gas cap that I put on the day I bought the Cruiser was causing the indicators to trip. I have had the truck for almost a year now and the indicators have only come on twice. Tech said there was air leaking pass the cap. NO harm done he said...just need to clear the codes now.

Everytime I hear something like that I am always amazed that something like a gas cap could cause such a problem in a modern car..

But hey at least you did not find a chewed up wire and have to spend $3,000.00 to get it fixed...
