Exclamation Front Diff Leaking

Took off my factory skids today to replace with Demmello one and found that my Front Diff is leaking!
Anybody else have this problem?
What did you end up doing?
I'll be calling Toyota tomorrow to see if they will take care of it under warranty which they should sense it is an internal problem which has not been affected by modifications.

Re: Front Diff Leaking

There is a thread on this.

Do u have a pool of fluid or can u see fluid on the skid? If u just see a wet area around your seal and u have no puddles your good. Cuz if you wheel/ have a lift your gonna get some seepage.

Re: Front Diff Leaking

The skid under it was wet, and a good amount of the diff was wet as well, no puddle or anything i think it may have dried up?

i searched but couldn't find any threads

If your skid was wet then definitely get that checked out. Below is one of the threads:

Front Diff Seals leaking again

Re: Front Diff Leaking

The lemon did that...Toyota put a new diff in.....We thought it was an axle seal until they started taking it apart....it leaked at the top of the diff on mine.....but the fluid ran down the diff onto the axles leaving a puddle under the axle end of the diff....

Re: Front Diff Leaking

Just had mine replaced under warranty at 45,000 miles. They said the bolts were just loose. My mechanic told me they are only suppose to reseal them now and not replace.

Re: Front Diff Leaking

Mine was replaced under the drive-train warranty at 43,000 miles. My dealer is pretty great though. I have a lot of mods and it's obvious I use them. They found the leaks while replacing my inner pinion. The front diff is a bit of a known weak point. I think you should be getting it fixed gratis.
