MODs:
you dont have to pull out the whole entire system???
plus when using that spray i thought they said on the forum not to use the red straw??
and arent you suppose to spray a whole bunch even on the sensor inside the tube???
other then that great video helpful
I think you are confusing the MAF with the throttle body. With the throttle body you want to make sure the red straw is on there tight so it doesn't blow off and into the body itself. And yes, you will most likely spray the whole can into the throttle body itself.

The MAF is much easier than that.
no im talking about the maf sensor not the throttle body infact ive never cleaned the throttle body
do u need to?
the first thread about the maf sensor where demello had cleaned it for sumone had stated wat i stated i think
you dont have to pull out the whole entire system???
You are right, you don't have to pull the whole system. That was to allow for a better view of the system, where the MAF sits, and ease of video taping... Since I was pulling out my K&N CAI and replacing it with the stock system why not.

Follow the directions on the cleaner.

The "hot wires" are what measures the flow and cooked on muck can create a layer of insulation which changes the reading of the sensor. These are what need cleaning to ensure a proper flow of current which is translated into air mass.
thx for the feedback.

MODs:
pull the throttle body off while you are at it and clean with throttle body cleaner...you will be surprised how dirty it is and how much smoother your engine will opperate afterwards. the throttle body itself never fully closes and dirt builds up on the edges of the butterfly valve. this means that for idle the butter fly valve has to open up a bit more to maintain the same idle rpm.
this is pretty easy to do...remove your intake, 4 bolts that hold the body on, and then the 2 radiator tubes hooked up the body. clean with throttle body cleaner until no more black fluid comes out and you are done. your engine will idle funny because the throttle body needs to be adjusted since dirt was removed. your computer will adjust over time but I just removed my battery ground.

Greasing the o-ring/gasket with a VERY small bit of white grease and being careful when you put the MAF back into place will insure that the seal is complete and the o-ring isn't torn. The o-ring is quite delicate.

here is how to clean your throttle body: Throttle Body Cleaning w/Pics
If you are going to clean the MAF sensor you might as well do both at the same time.
