Repair manuals?

is there a repair manual for the fj cruiser? I tried to find one at haynes, but no luck. Always liked haynes they were made for do it yourself dummies....

Toyota factory service manuals cannot be beat in my experience.

Re: Repair manuals?

Another option is All Data DIY. They will have the correct TSB's that are updated. Usually costs <$16 for a yearly subscription

The Toyota Techstream is the "correct" source but very pricey.

http://techinfo.toyota.com

A 48 *hour* subscription is $15, for a month $75. A yearly subscription is $400

I've found that All Data offers >90% of the correct factory source information, including TSB's, as a small fraction of the cost. The catch: it can be hard to find the data, as it isn't linked as nicely as the official source.

Another catch, its HTML only. As I have Adobe Acrobat Professional, no big deal as I can convert sections I need into pdf's.

Re: Repair manuals?

Good question. Though with complex systems like our electric assist power brakes, I want the information to be correct. That means either Toyoto, or All Data.

With my Prius, you can NOT bleed the brakes yourself. You really do need the dealership scantool to command the brakes to bleed properly, and some Prius owners who thought that was BS found out the hard way, they had NO brakes after they were done

I've seen generic manuals for the Prius, that seem to suggest the brakes can be bled the old fashioned way. That is dangerously wrong information! So proper shop manuals are only "expensive" compared to what? A crash?

Note: the FJ brakes can be bled the old fashioned way
