Yeah, you really don't want one. Larry (uphill) and me should really take the risk of this horribly dangerous tank. The rest of you should let us both jump up in the queue and take the first tanks to save you all from the Pinto risk

Yup, here, here, and here

If there is a "For Off-Road Use Only" disclaimer on the Man-A-Fre site, FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Tank, I've missed it. But, I wouldn't be surprised to see a "For Off-Road Use Only" disclaimer when sales begin. With a disclaimer from Man-A-Fre, liability, (as discussed here) will, I think, be transferred from Man-A-Fre.

Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary fuel tank

As I understand it, and I could be wrong, the new fill spout to go into the modified tank set up has come to MAF from Toyota.

It fits up under the FJ between the rear bumper and the rear axle. MIR207 has been driving around with the larger 21 gallon tank for quite a while now with NO difficulties, including some very demanding off-roading. No approach angle problems, no damage to the tank, no issues. The new 19 gallon tank has a smaller profile than the 21 gallon tank and comes with its own skid plate.

In my opinion, THIS is the solution to the problem of hauling plastic fuel cans on the top of the FJ on trips. It will hold up a lot better in a crash than 15 gallons of fuel inside plastic cans getting knocked off the roof and flying around like huge Molotov C0cktails.
