Yes this is a great looking bumper and bumper mounting system. It would be cheaper to buy then make, I have learned from my Aux. Rear fuel tank system. I think the tire on one arm and a flat folding table top on the other side so that you could do work or barbeque is what I need!
my dad has one similar on his Jeep Unlimted Rubicon.....I asked him what type of bearing assembly they used cuz even with a one inch mount pin...that has to be some serious stress on that bearing with a 33" wheel and tire setup hanging off it in open position.
also, does the swing out for tire get full support when closed and only have to hold weight when open?
I am just looking at a longevity angle...
I love the setup though.....it is about perfect. I wonder if a special finish or other would help backup sensor operation...is it reflecting signals and giving bad readings...or what is the issue as I see quite a few bumper makers have the sensor holes cut.
thanks for the pics.
Just like 1BoredClerk said, when the bumper is in the closed position, all of the weight rests on the bumper, the only time the arm holds the weight is when it is open. As to date, I have done some pretty rough trails with it, and it is still in perfect shape

I have to agree, and someone mentioned earlier having a 2nd gas tank, and carry water on the back, this is what i plan on doing, as soon as MAF is shipping their tanks

The rear bar on my TT.
Closed
Open
Side view, tire is on same angle as rear door/original tire
Ive had it on for two weeks now and extremely happy with it, better then the old kaymar i had on my 60's because it automatically locks the swing open carriers in position when you open it (the old ones had a pin you had to put in place, made it difficult when carrying lots of stuff.)

Wondering of one of you lucky prototypes would mind doing a departure angle analysis with the Kaymar vs stock. And, of course any other updates would be helpful. Thank you!
