Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Fuel Tank --> INSTALLED

I'll be out in Simi Valley tomorrow and will stop by MAF for an update if I have time.

Even though my tank is installed, still want good installation instructions. One never knows when you would want to pull the tank.

Thanks Ben.

Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Fuel Tank --> INSTALLED

I spoke with Steve and Ben today at MAF. Feel free to call them for instructions and questions. There appears to be a pretty good fix if you are only getting two codes. MAF is working the harder case where you get multiple codes. Since I very infrequently get lights, I am going to sit it out a while to see where their troubleshooting leads. As always MAF was very helpful.

I haven't bothered checking WHICH codes I'm still getting. I just clear them w/my OBDII reader without looking.

What are the relevant codes to look for -- 2 vs. "multiple" -- to decide if the current fix is worth trying to get or not?

Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Fuel Tank --> INSTALLED

Since I don't have a Scanguage, I don't really know what's going on. All I see are all the lights under the "check engine" light. I think that is what the top one is called.

And yes, I will wait for the "final and there will be no more problems" fix.

So I will be doing what I will be doing with the FJ and not really worrying about it.

Thanks CactusJK for the update.

Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Fuel Tank --> INSTALLED

As with the rest of you, I get two codes and I clear them... usually when the tanks are getting empty.

Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Fuel Tank --> INSTALLED

Ben rattled them off pretty fast but am sure that he will let us know.

I had to post this tonight. My lights went OUT. Didn't do anything but start it up. Didn't fill up or transfer fuel, they just went OUT. Hooooorahhh.

It won't last long though. I know, what an optimist.
Well, since the above post on 6/6 my lights have stayed out. I think the FJ computer is the AI type. It just had to learn that I wasn't going to change anything and it resigned itself to that fact and automatically adjusted to the new tank.

(now watch tomorrow they will come back on)
