Uphill - I dont know who you sent the email to (it never made it to me, whoever it was!) Shoot a copy to ben@man-a-fre.com and I'll work something out.

Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Fuel Tank --> INSTALLED

Ok, Ben. I'll do that. I did get an e-mail response that said, "call service and set up an appointment".

This week was bad so I planned to call for sometime next week. And maybe I'll either see MIR207 (Mark Richardson) there or in conjunction so we can swap FJ Lies.

Thanks.

Is it starting to get colder up there at night?

I spoke to Ben at some length. It's a gasket issue and they do have a fix. Unfortunately it means dropping the aux tank and refitting it. The fix is easy enough. The process is time consuming.

I think that's the issue - the gasket has contracted in size just enough to cause the lights to go on.

Re: FJ Cruiser Auxiliary Fuel Tank --> INSTALLED

Our daytime temps have dropped maybe 5-7 degrees, down to the high 90's/low 100's and the night time about the same drop. I guess that would affect the gasket.

Last time to MAF is stayed to party with Ben and the local FJ group which was alot of fun. Had a couple of bagpipers putting on a show at the restaurant.

Uphill, Ben, have any short runs on a weekend coming up? I could schedule for that time.

Maybe next time I'll drive over Thursday night, I really hate that morning commute in that traffic over there.

Sure hope this is a permanent fix.

Let me know how it turns out. I need to make the trip at some point.

X2!

But, I have a bolt attachment that came loose of the weld and it will require additional time to reweld it after the tank is dropped. Oh well . . .

Happened to me as well! We just feed a nut through the frame and bolt into that - much easier then trying to weld in there.

I already put another nut in there through a small eyehole, but it was a real pain to get it lined up and to tighten the bolt into it. So, before I drop the tank, I'd like to try to get the bolt spot welded in place before the bolt is removed.
