Might be interested in your very lightly used rear suspension components when/if you decide to sell.

And you know they were used hard but only twice...

Good point would be that if I can swing Summit- they could be hand delivered
So here is the UPDATE
Marlin Lefty-
Has arrived at baerTrax and will be started soon. He has a lot of work to be done as some of you may or may not know, BaerTrax will be the focus of a new Reality TV show (like Duck Dynasty- only with 4wd and not duck calls and long beards

)
Its doubtful my rig will make the show but kinda cool that I could potentially see guys get pissed off and throw a wrench at it
So more on the Lefty as it evolves...
All Pro Apex DOM Kickout Sliders-
Spoke to Brandon today at AP and they were on their way out the door to BaerTrax!
So they will arrive and be sent in for powder coating as Im so embarrassed about my previous "spot" issue, I cannot allow that to drive my CDO insane...

Once finished- Josh will get them installed and they will be tested at Jambo!
A special Thanks goes out to 3L5 LEGO for getting me my own OVH-2013 sticker- Many thanks again!
Rear Suspension
Ok so the last section is based in part to my obsessive need to always modify my rig thats never used only so I can then sell these parts later to some forum member who might be looking for slightly used parts that are basically new looking...

Makes sense to me....
So after speaking with many here on the forum (Ryan, Chris and Brandon) about their rear long travel set ups designed by Metal Tech and doing some searching Ive come up with these issues and possible resolutions.
Anyone is welcome to chime in and give ideas- please- it will only help me.
So to start- this photo was what prompted me to change the rear suspension-
This was followed by a loud crunch (Erick remembers

) and then my subsequent pull off due to really coming down hard on the rocks
This was an issue with gearing (too much skinny pedal to move those 35" tires) and flex. The gearing will be done and the flex is whats left. Had I had the LT rear- the rear tire would have drooped more and hooked up with the rock below allowing more control. This is where im focusing now.
So with that said heres what I know (some unconfirmed as Ive been trying to find the threads with no luck)
My current set up
All Pro +3.5" Rear Springs- free height (measured today by AP- 16 3/4")
Fox 2.0" x 9.5" Piggyback style shocks- Fuzzy here but remember reading they were 25.5" extended and 16" collapsed.
SS extended brake lines
What Im looking to do-
MT progressive springs- 19 1/4" free height (but ride height is more like a 3" lift or +2")
Poly Spacers- 1.25- 2" depending on how much more room I need to clear the bumps at speed.
MT 2" drop brackets- I will reuse my Timbren "modified" bumps since they are the same height at the stock axle bumps
King 2.5" x 10" Bypass shocks w/ 4 tubes (front mounted) w/ remote resi and compression adjustment.
(from Filthy Motorsports page- Collapse- 18.375"- Extended- 28.375")
So if my current ride height is 6" from the Timbren to the axle and Im not contacting it now (since modifying the bumps) then i would like to have a set up as close to that as possible so....
By taking measurements given to me by Brandon (thanks

) of his ride height being 2 1/4-2 1/2", I deducted I would need the poly spacers to lift the rig up to my current ride height. So this would add a potential of 1.25 to 2" of ride height making it closer to 3 1/2- 4 1/2" depending on spacer width chosen.
Then by going with MT's 2" drop bracket versus the 3", I would gain another inch and some since the Timbren bump is a "wee bit" (very technical measurement) shorted than the stocker.
So all told I have the potential of having anywhere from 4 1/2"- 5 1/2" of uptravel to avoid the axle tube/ bump collision. Im currently at 6" now and believe the King bypasses could be better tuned to avoid that contact since they would allow for greater tuning. With the compression setting on the resi and the bypass tubes controlling both rebound and compression and the added .5" extra diameter- these should be able to make this rig float- Im hoping.
The beauty is I can order these through a vendor who will have them tuned to specific like ride height, weight, riding style (crawling/ desert running)and so on. I considered custom lengths and that wouldn't really be that big of a deal since I should be able to absorb the added collapsed length with the addition of the spacer and the extended length would only be 1/8" under the Icon spec'ed LT set up.
So some ask... Why not just get it the way MT speced it.
Its simple- I don't want to hit my axle tubes on uptravel going fast....
I have an extremely heavy arse end on my rig and finally...
I've never gone the path traveled the most- Ive always made my own way using products/ ideas less known to shed some light and go in a different direction- so why change that now.
So for the folks who crunch numbers and know the deal- tell me Im either nuts or close and then help with ideas.
Looking to pull the trigger soon so that it will be ready when I get home to install before Jambo-
then me and the Rock garden will meet again- this time I'll make it
Thanks for reading
