The Scorpion rack is looking awesome buddy, I think the addition of the full size M-Pac on the front is the way to go. The Shotgun Monuting location is Great!...Very nice job, I can't wait to see it in person in a few weeks.
Thanks, Mike. It's a work in progress. I'm looking forward to using it in the field both at the Summit and in an expedition setting. We all have a limited amount of space to store our "stuff". For those of us who find ourselves using the back seat for passengers from time to time, the storage box/sleeping platform isn't practical. This is only an effort to address the problem many of us face.
The Summit can't come too soon for me. Is it time to leave yet?

That is awesome! I've been playing around with very similar ideas. Something to keep the dogs in the back and double as extra storage rack. Very cool.

What possible use would I have with an unloaded firearm?
It's always loaded. Every firearm I have is always loaded. And that's not the "hunter's safety - treat every firearm as if it was loaded." Mine actually are. And my knives, axes, arrows and other edged weapons are sharp.
The Scorpion Rack looks great. Really like that shotgun mount.

+1
Reminds me of the famous quote by a Texas Ranger, who when asked if the 1911 pistol he was carrying ****ed and locked and the grip safety tied up with a piece of rawhide was dangerous, replied: "I wouldn't carry the son of a ***** if it wasn't dangerous".

I have credentials - so I can carry it loaded anywhere in the US or US Territories.

I recall that a reporter did a human interest piece on the Texas Rangers a few years ago. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do you carry a 45?". The Ranger responded with, "Because they don't make a .46."
As a .45 shooter, the response tickled me. Sort of the same to-the-point thing as the gathering of shouters and marchers -- a single ranger drives up pulling a horse trailer, gets out, pulls the horse out and mounts it.
One of the people there taunted him and said, "Where are the rest of your Rangers?"
The Ranger responds, "One riot, one Ranger."
You've gotta love it.
