treknwil's 87 4runner(lots of pics)

I thought you guys might like seeing my 4runner.
I bought my 4runner a little more than two years ago. I paid $750 for it. It was pretty ruff.
There's it coming home.

The front was busted up and the interior was real bad.

It wouldn't pass smog. So the first mod was a catalytic converter and a 40 series Flow-master, and 2-1/4" pipe.

It had auto locking hubs that didn't work, so I installed some Aisin hubs.

To fix the sheet metal and int. I went to a wrecker and picked up a lot of parts for inside and out.

Also picked up some wheels and rims(used).

When I was done this is what it looked like.

To get sid of rear sag. I installed AAL.

After a year or so I installed a drivers door, roof, and 1" home made body lift.

than I added is used tires and rims off of Craigslist 32x11.50/15s BFG MT's & American Racing Steelies.

I also got rid of the Golden Gate primer looking paint. I rattle canned it primer grey.

Added Winch, Brush Guard, and Lights. I made the winch plate.

I install a Downey Truss, Downey 26mm T-bars, upper & lower Ball Joints, and the 1" ball J spacer I made. I removed the anti sway bar.

Flex after 1"BJ spacers and no sway bar!

Then I made some Rock sliders.

I think that's it

Sweet build Wil. Nice 87 - great deal. I like the skids.

So is your project finished? Never...right!?

You take the top off yet for some open air cruising? Always one of my favorite things about 'ye old runners!

Is that a 83? Toy at your neighbor's?

Thanks.I don't think the project will ever be done, thats what makes it fun. And good eye that is a 83 toy PU. I haven't had the roof off this summer, I did last summer. I'm working on some 1/2 doors for next summer. No top and 1/2 door, it'll be sweet!!!

Engine is good it did need some electrical, vacuum work. The Trans is going to need a rebuild some day soon. As far as sailing it ??? I think I'd sale the FJ first.
