Re: The RAPTOR (Shadow Warrior's Build)

We have a local dealer that sells reconditioned Unimogs and Pinzgauers. I was talking to him several months back about these cool and unique vehicles and he said that the Unimog is definitely the winner in the offroad catagory, but is not so good for road use. He said if you want the best of both worlds you want to go with the Pinzgauer. He had a really cool one (former ambulance) that had roof top air, generator and a bunch of other cool features.

AFAIK, the Pinzgauers come in 4x4 and 6x6 configurations, and, like the Unimog, offer a wide variety of options

An interesting article on the Pinzgauer drive train DIFFLOCK.com - Pinzgauer

Re: The RAPTOR (Shadow Warrior's Build)

Pinzgauers SUCK comparatively speaking. They are independent f/r suspension and have ZERO flex. The driveshafts are mounted under the rocker panels as are several key components like gas tanks.

Mogs will wheel circles around the Pinz.

Re: The RAPTOR (Shadow Warrior's Build)

Don't shoot the messenger.

I'm just repeating what someone more knowledgeable than I told me. Since they rebuild and sell both, I figured they knew what they were talking about. BTW, they/I did say that the Unimog was definitely the better offroad vehicle.

Regards
Sean T.

The first time I saw a Pinz I couldn't believe how small it was... from it's tall, boxy appearance I'd imagined it was a massive vehicle. Not so!

Yep, that's the one I was looking at a while back, it is nice the way it sits, but you know me, I would have to add my own touches to it.
