Crack rock-crawler Build

Okay I figured I would start my own build thread for Alex's Crack rock Toyeti now that I purchased it, as I'm going to be doing my own things to it and just didn't want to flood his thread and confuse people. So lets start off with what Alex did... Well that's everything right now. So here it is...

The way I got it.

1 Pair- Rigid Dually D2’s- euro beam-
1 Pair- PIAA LP530- LED lights in rear bumper

1 pair of the Squadron pro in wide cornering on the cowl mounts ( These will shock you! highly recommend)

I just noticed you were the first person to comment on my FJ all those years ago when I first got it! It was cool to meet up and take one of my favorite pictures of your FJ a few years back, I wish I could have met up with you guys this year as well!

Baz, I don't think people would let me change it! Lol. Thats what it's known as, so I took its name and my last rig license plate (FJcrawler) and combined them to make the "Crack rock crawler".

#12 ·
Nice pics thanks for sharing them. Hopefully one of these days mine will flex like that.

#15 ·
Congrats Colin. That is one sweet score.

The only thing I would do would be lose the Pitbulls, as they have seemed to be a reliability issue in the past. Krawlers, KM2s, or MTRs would all be a reliability upgrade.

That, and cover the thing with all sorts of random and offensive stickers.

Great pictures! I wheeled with Alex a few times down here in TX and that rig is amazing. Even got to drive it once :rocker: Look forward to seeing what you do to it over the years to come, you're a lucky man to have such a great starting point!

Was wondering when this thread was going to show up. ;) Your old rig and the CR are such different style of builds (obviously the CR is a great rig but I still liked the cleaner look you had), looking forward to see what you do.

Thx man, yes it was a clean looking rig and went everywhere I wanted it to go, however this one is just so over the top bad ass, plus it rides so much better, which will be good for my wife's bad neck and my son's spine. LOL I'm sure with the little things I have planned for it I can get to taking sweet pix like this of the new CRC. crop lightning by Captures by Colin, on Flickr

So on its first trip out with Me on Saturday I might have over ext. the front end just a bit doing this.

Which then caused this....

IMG_6342 by Captures by Colin, on Flickr

But luckily My best friend was there to spot it before damage was done and last night We got the boot back on. Here is a picture of his rig he just bought and started to mod, not sure what direction he is going yet, but after picking up the CRC, I'm guessing We will both have LT after he sells his 2001 4runner.

IMG_6330 by Captures by Colin, on Flickr

Speaking of which... anybody looking for a bad ass 4runner for a hell of a deal? It can be had for less then $13k now!

You broke it already!?

#28 · (Edited)
Not broke, just broken in. That boot just needs to be a bit longer.

Are those the CRC OEM wheels on the 4RNR? Or is that coincidence?
Yes they are, good catch, his new tires didn't come in soon enough, so I just let him borrow those for a bit.

So I took a extended lunch break and fixed up the truck for tonights snow run!

There was a small short in the awesome Scorpion LEDs that I rectified then there was a bad relay going to the Rigid D2s, So now I can at least see a little bit.

While I was home I was able to open a few goodies that I will give you guys a sneakpeek at. First I want/need more light! But I didn't want to put a rack back on the FJ so I just picked up these from Pure FJ. Going to mount the Scorpions up there off to the side to help spot for Deer and elk, which will then free up some space down there for some others.

Next Orangeboxx fab was nice enough to change my order when I found out about picking up this rig to change the color from the green I had on the other truck to the blue that Alex started with this one.

20150122_135143 by Captures by Colin, on Flickr

More stuff to come in the next mo. or so.
