OK I see now... I didn't even notice you made them from birch. I guess I just had metal in mind like the Tuffy, but on second thought there is no need for them to be metal and heavy. If I can find free time I just might try to build a set.
Your other option is to make them out of thinner wood like 3/8" or 1/2" and have them Line-X'd or Rhino-Lined. They would be bulletproof. I've seen this done on several rigs.

Cool place - the truck seems to be getting the spider webs shaken out of it (pun intended) & I'm looking forward to seeing photos or better still, videos of the machine in action.

I think almost all the spiders are gone now.
After a couple weeks driving it I am going to change the springs to a bit lighter set I'm thinking 550 lb if I can find them. I need a new cat so I can pass smog some leaf spring retainers so my leafs don't fan out on me anymore. New shocks in the rear to tied me over till I can do what I want back there. Just waiting for payday to roll around.
Video will be nice, I'm hoping to do some of that with in a month or so.

No its not Bad , Its awsone, one of the best here in this forum ... Keep it up ...
Q: how is the supercharge is it good for daily use ?
I think you are looking at Air2air's Uber FJ (the video link in my sig?) His FJ is very nice driven it a couple times and he has it up for sell right now.
The supercharger rocks though URD did a fantastic job with it. Daily driving with it is good but Todds FJ has some tranny mods that make it shift hard (good for performance not so good for DD. But just with the supercharger its awesome.
