Re: R2fj

Very nice ride. Nice touch with the batt. plate.

Do your tire rub? Do you have a level kit in?

Re: R2fj

No rubbing and no level kit in at this point. Our tires are 275/70R17 which I believe is the largest tire you can fit on an FJ with stock suspension without any modification. We LOVE these tires by the way, cannot recommend them enough. Our FJ has seen everything from highway driving to rain, snow, mud, puddles, ice and rock crawling since putting these tires on and they have performed flawlessly in every capacity! Buy them!

We were holding out for as long as possible on doing a lift because we like the stock ride so much, but after our last couple of trail runs and talking with some folks about their setups, I think a lift kit has just moved up on our list.

Thank you everyone for the compliments! We will be making the trek to the National Summit this year so we hope to see you there...maybe I'll bring some SW goodies for the padawans!

Re: R2fj

I also kept forgetting to take a pic of this, we've actually had the set up for about a month now. Josh made this great custom bracket that the Powertank is mounted to, with space saved for a fire extinguisher (coming soon).

Don't need any excuses, just for the 'lift kit' tree to start growing outside my apartment right next to the shrubbery that grows cash.

Re: R2fj

Mike you might want to rethink the 275/75s. That's 5% more sidewall (plus the added height of the 275 vs the 265). I would be very surprised if that fit, not to mention what it's going to do to your gearing and speedo. Any particular reason you went with the 75 series tires? Just trying to get a bit of extra height?

Re: R2fj

Yup, I think it's a 33.2" x 10.8"...

No particular reason for it. I figure with my mod budget being what it is, I better get the tire I'm gonna want for a loooong time the first time out. If they're crazy big, well that's just more motivation to get a lift

Not concerned about gearing or speedo, in fact I think it will bring my speedo into agreement with my GPS. Right now it's a good 4% off or so.
