FJ40 Build Up!!

This picture as you can see it, this is when i first brought it. The tires were reuined. It also wont start and if it started it will only last for 10 to 15 seconds.

Now as you can see we changed the tires and washed it from top to bottom also we did some minor fixtures to the engine. Its better than before but it wont move due to the old clucth. I will try to get interior pictures but as you know im here in the US somebody is sending me these pictures. I will tell him next time to get the interior and i will keep you guys updated enjoy.

It's a '79-'83 model . . . . what year exactly? What's some of the history behind this truck . . . . did you buy it in Kuwait? Does it still have its stock drivetrain?

Its an 83 one of the last models sold in the dealership. Yes i bought it in Kuwait i had put my eyes on this FJ since i first saw it 2 years ago in their beach-house. They didnt want to sell because it reminded them of their grandfather. Now they where in need to sell it because they sold the beach house and had no place to put it. So i offered to buy it. It is now sitting in our beach houses garage and getting restored slowly till may or june till i get back so i could start it up. Yes everything is stock on the vehicle nothing is aftermarket. The engine has only 60000 orignal kms which is really great and the interior is perfect. Thank you for your interest LCS

i wanna do this so bad, thats the FJ my father had, i hope to give my current FJ to my son some day (6 yrs till he drives)

Thank you guys for your interest in this build up. I will keep you updated. As i was notified today my 40 will be given to a group of professionals to check out the paint and minor body damages which were due from rust corrosion
in a few spots.

Wow, I am very interested in this build up. Let me know how it goes. We dont' sell parts for the FJ40, but I'm curious to see how it goes for you. We will be modifying the new FJ cruiser in 3 weeks with our accessories. But what you're doing is much more interesting

Am back at last and ive got a lot of pictures of the 40. Its restored now and works fine and really well. There are a few things that need to be adjusted before hitting the streets which are the A/C and seatbelts. Other than that its ready to go... Enjoy the pictures.

Has the bezel been changed? It looks different. The paint looks great btw! Can we see some interior shots?
