saw this rig on the freeway, looks tough and mean from behind with all the lights on!

Great rig and great pictures!! You are lucky to have taken such awesome trips. I especially like the picture of you in the mud pit... thats where I'd be too.
I dont know if those tree spreaders will be much use agains the redwoods! If you want to be able to use risers while keeping the hood open, add outrigger bars to your roof rack and run the wires from the edge of your bumper to those. This should spread them wide enough to allow you to open the hood.
If you are going in between trees, remember too that you will be scraping the sides of your rig and will have to live with pinstripes. I drove on overgrown trails and had many many pinstripes. They are unavoidable, even with 3m protective film.
Look forward to seeing more of your pictures!

Take it slow and stay on the trail. And always remember the FJ is HEAVY. JMHO as a reformed trail-blazer.

Thanks Jason.
Yeah, I actually have lots of pinstripes at this point.
The Sun Fusion Yellow is great for scrathes. You really have to look for them.
I've even torn the black wraps that go around the windows, that shows the yellow underneath.
