Re: BocaChaser's Trail Team Build

Being a big fan of the understated "subdued" look, the TT looks great de-badged and blacked-out.

Lookin' TOO good, BocaChaser!!

Re: BocaChaser's(IronMAN) Trail Team Buildup Update

[quote=BocaChaser;885041]Well, I got a new trail team FJ and started to do a couple little mods.

Mods so far:
1. De-Badge the rear
2. Tint
3. PIAA headlight bulbs
4. Paint front Toyota emblem

Newest Mods:

5. 3" OME lift
6. Blacked out front lights and cornerlights
7. Blue Tint on driving lights

Very nice!! I have a TT and have been wanting to lift/level it. Not necessarily looking to bring it up too far but more so that it looks level and maybe a bit higher for more clearance. I do some moderate wheeling maybe once every couple months.

Is the 3" OME lift strictly a front end lift or is that 3" in fron and 2" on the back end? Can you or anyone recommend a leveling kit in lieu of a lift or is just better to lift it? I know there's a ton of reading material on the lifts available and I've looked at it but I think I really just want my rig leveled off.

Thanks for posting the pics.

^^^If you want to level it, get yourself OME 883 coils. This will bring the front up for you, and will also lessen the brake dive, allow for more front end weight, etc.

Thanks Landy. Is there any adjustment to those coils or can I bank on them truly leveling out the front. I just wonder if it will lift it higher (or lower) than level and if I can control the amount of lift.

Thanks for the response.

To paint the front emblem I went to a local automotive store and bought a high gloss automotive spray paint. Then basically i put taped up behind the grill and emblem. Make sure you clean the emblem getting all dirt off. I then used a piece of paper to make sort of a template of the Toyota emblem. I then cut out the emblem on the piece of paper taped it on to the grill and spray painted the emblem. You have to remember not to spray to much at one time. It is better to spray too little and do alot of coats then to do one coat and spray too much on only one coat.
Thanks for this. Thinking of doing my front emblem in red. You gonna black out the bling plate?

Post pics of the carbon fiber trim, if you do it. I like where this TT is going
