I bought my FJ in Dec 06 with the thoughts of building it up over time to a sturdy off roader that I could also drive around town and take road trips in as well. At the same time I bought a piece of property in the mountains and started rebuilding a barn into a house. Well I am doing all the building “out of pocket” so I put all the big stuff on the FJ on the back burner. Then I went to Skyline, AL with the Smokey Mountain Cruisers.
Prior to that trip I had done a fair amount of electrical work including driving lights on the roof, camp lights on both sides of the rack and a double set on the back of the rack. I also installed a stand alone fuse block to accommodate all electrical add ons.
This is just too verbose, how about just a list, photos and a few captions.
-Stand alone fuse block
-Roof mounted driving lights, more to come on bumper when I build the bumper
-Camp lights on side and rear of rack
-CB
-A few 12V outlets
-Back up camera
-Rack basket
-Custom air dam and light mount welded to front of basket
-Rear window release buttons on back door and dash
Then I went to Skyline
-OME 3” lift
-Extra set of steelies
-BFG MT KM2s 285/70/17
-Warn Powerplant 12,000 lb winch mounted on multi mount
-Built 2” receiver for the front end.
-Built sliders
On the list
-Build front bumper
-Build rear bumper
-Build lower control arm skids
-Build diff skid
-Build or buy skids
-build or buy lower control arms
-Install second battery
-Install Heavy Duty CVs if anyone ever starts making them
