Re: Buit in Vail, CO

After:
I want to thank Frank and Ben from Moontime Cycles in Edwards, CO! They were a key part of this build up. It is really nice to have guys like this around who are willing to help out another off roader. Please help me say thanks buy bringing your bikes to them for repair or buy a new one from them!

This is the first stage of many, so more posts will come. More pictures when it stops snowing.

All in the first weekend:
• Skid plates - Bud Built
• Rock Rails - Bud Built
• New Suspension - OME
• Front Bumper - All Pro
• Winch - Mile Marker 8,000 lbs.
• Lights - IPF

Future (next weekend...maybe)
• Rewire ATrac
• VSC control override switch
• Relocation of breathing tubes for locker and differential
• Wire in CB and antenna
• Fuse box & battery cable connections
• Reinstall roof rack w/ yakamia

Future (undetermined)
• On board air system
• Cutting Body Mounts
• Tires, I am thinking BFG 315x70x17

Nice work! Todd, did you grow up in Vail? Thought you looked familiar in the pics, but maybe not because of the WY plates=). I grew up there, but live in Denver now...

Re: Buit in Vail, CO

Those before pics don't look like they're from Vail. Perhaps Wyoming. :-)

Re: Built in Vail, CO

Wow, I really can't get anything past you guys... Here's the answers to your questions.

I forgot to take before pictures, so I copied the pictures that were on ebay when I bought the FJ from a guy in WY. I have never lived in WY.

The guys in the pictures are from Moontime Bike shop. User name moontime on this forum, look up Frank's Moontime FJ build up. I was behind the camera.

My name is Todd. I have lived in Vail for about 6 years, however, I had a public position with Vail Resorts (Corporate Recruiter). I also have a weekly article on finance in the Vail Daily with pictures, as I am now an Edward Jones Financial Advisor.

My FJ does live outside... My wife gets the parking space because the FJ does not fit inside anymore. Go big or go home!

Re: Built in Vail, CO

Hi Todd,

My FJ lives outside too. I live about 70 miles west of you. I installed a Toyota block heater a couple of weeks after I got the Fj in Jan. '07. It's not the greatest (only 400 watts) but it does help the FJ warm up a little bit faster on those bitterly cold days.

I'll pick up a copy of the Vail Daily next time I'm in Eagle County and look for your article(s).
