Re: My Ride

I got my rims and tires last friday,I had to get the fronts rebalanced due to vibration and still the fronts feel the road alot more than my street tires did.
But I guess beauty has its price...lol
These tires have a mud type tread patern and it seems like the truck has a whole new ride to it.I just hope the bad vibration is gone,I dont like stick on weights. The guy said that he cant use clip on weights due to the thickness of the seal edge. The rims are by Ultra and called Goliath. The tires are Bridgestone 265-70-R17. A/PT I had phone rep pick out these tires and I trusted his judgement I didnt get to see them till they were mounted , had I known they had this ruff ride,I would have stayed with a softer tread. These feel like deivery van tires.

Re: My Ride

i always tend to go against the grain, a bit off the beat n path from most.. in almost all aspects of my life.. you know what?
im glad i do. a lil resistance isnt a bad thing.. makes you strong and gives you a sense of pride to stick to your guns, and go with what feels right to YOU.
you make your FJ .. YOUR fj

Re: My Ride

Just remember, all that pretty chrome wont get you home. Im not one for chrome, but as a design major I can appreciate chrome when it is done tastefully. The mirrors and doors and wheels look decent enough, but I really do not like that plastic hood grab handle thing. I think it looks pretty goofy, but its your money and your truck and if it makes you happy go ahead and stick a couple more of those on your truck

Re: My Ride

Hey man.. different people..... different tastes. ( Personally I do not like the hood or any chrome parts on an FJ)
Hopefully your ride makes you proud while driving it.

Re: My Ride (NJ Georgee)

It serves many purposes one it detaches to serve drinks at FJ meets...lol
No kidding,I made mine that you can pull on the handles to open the hood
for when you install the hood kit that opens the hood in the oposite direction
The Big Hum-Vs have this too and t serves to pull the entire nose open.
Its meant to be a vent and hood opening handles.
If you buy this kit They only expect you to stick this on with their double sided tape,Rediclous, first of all it came warped so the edges would not stay down.If you just stick it on it could come off on the hyway and damage outher cars. The tape didnt hold at all even after I cleaned the hood and used their tube of surface glue excelerator.
So I unscrewed the handles drilled holes through the hood for longer screws to the handles, this way it aint comming off. Then I filled the handle ends with marine tex to make the handles solid at the ends and this will suport stress applied to the handles when lifting the hood.I still have to get the hood reverse kit. This just bolts in no welding. I told truck toys how there idea of sticking this item to the hood was ridiculous and what I did to improve there kit. They acted like I was wrong, well good hen they get sued for one of these smashing through some outher drivers windsheild then they will know im right.
pluss if use there glue excelerator it destroys the paint where you apply it.
So if use this kit realize its perminent.
