Will's Black Cherry Build

*UPDATED 7/21*

After my initial post I saw LandCruiserSteve's thread on how to create a good build-up page and realized I had violated every rule he outlined. So here is my Black Cherry build version 2.0.

I got my 2007 FJ bone stock Memorial Day 2007. At first I was going to go with chrome rims and all that "Hummer" crap before I realized what an idiot I was. When I was young my Dad had a passion for rock crawling and all things outdoors. He had some of the coolest Wranglers that I had ever seen (don't kill me for saying a Jeep looked good) and we would take trips to Uwharrie and Tellico several times a year. It didn't take me long to decide that I was going to do the same in the FJ. So here's what I've done so far:

Audio

Panasonic Head Unit (CQ-C8405U)
Memphis MClass Speakers and Tweaters All The Way Around
Memphis MClass AB Amp For Mids and Highs
Memphis MClass D Bass Amp
Memphis M1 15in Sub In A Rather Large Ported Box
Stinger Cap and Wiring
Custom Auto Acoustics Lexan Work With LEDs
iPod Connector

Panasonic H.U.

My now non-existent trunk. M1 15's aren't for everyone...I just like to listen to my music really loud.

Night shot of the Lexan work.

Amps and Stinger Cap

The build up of the audio system was pretty easy until it came to mounting amps and stuff. The actual trunk floor was raised to make room for the Lexan work, and the plastic on the back of the seats was also removed and replaced with some kind of mounting board covered in carpet.

Armor/Recovery/Lighting Mods

Allpro Offroad Front Bumper With Large Hoop
Warn 9.5xi Winch
PIAA 510 Driving Lights (Ion Yellow) On Bumper
PIAA 520 Fogs Up Top (no, I'm not using them as fog lights on the top of my car...they help my side to side visibility on the trail)
Allpro Light Bar/Air Dam
Highlift Xtreme Mounted On Rack
BF Goodrich AT (31')
Allpro Bandi CB Antenna Mount
TrailGear Sliders
Allpro Front Engine/Tranny Skids

Other Stuff

Tints
Tail Light Guards
Flowmaster Dual Exaust (Two Chamber) w/ Stainless Tips
Blacked Out Mirrors, Handles, Bezel, and Rear Wings
Mirror Light Covers
Head Light Covers

I have an appointment next week to get the front bezel, mirrors, handles, and rear wings all painted black. My lift kit is also being ordered. It's going up enough to clear 35' BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain KM2s, so I'm guessing 6 inches but I'm not sure...I'll post some pics of the sound system and other stuff as I get the chance. Thanks for looking!

Oh, and by the way...here are some pics of the FJ40 to tease you a bit. I'm going to do another build thread for it once I get this one down.

FINALLY I got everything blacked out. Here's the pics...

Re: Will's Black Cherry Build

looks good so far... but if you're asking for my $.02... black that FJ out! At a minimum, do the rear bumper and the bezel... wait for a sunny day, get some adhesion promoter, and have at it!

Re: Will's Black Cherry Build

I actually have an appointment with the body shop for this week to get mirrors handles bezel and rear bumper all blacked out....I like the way you think

And I'm running two dual chamber Flowmasters. They sound extremely good...I wasn't expecting much rumble out of a V6 but darn if I didn't get it.
