The linex should not have problems in heat areas, such as Cali, since in most cases it is sprayed in truck beds and sprayed in the color black. This stuff is pretty tough, I have seen on a show how they can make a building blast proof...I kind of doubt they would get repeat business if this stuff couldn't withstand hi temps.

From the linex website...Linex Xtra

LINE-X Completes Blast Test in New Mexico

Video section of their website, even has videos for Ballistics.

Their About Us Page states about army development and success at high temp/pressure.

I should have been more clear, my concern was towards the engine overheating and higher in-cabin temperatures. Maybe the solution would be to line-x only half of the truck, just from the windows down.

Re: Meet Booger

Well Booger made it with out any heat problems all the way to the Summit. We cruised through IA and NE at 80MPH, so the miles just flew. We already got a few trail runs in and Booger got a new Demello rear bumper. I will post up picks when I am back home again and have better bandwidth (hotel wifi sucks).
Meeting lots of people and answering all sorts of questions...it's a lot of fun.
To all at the Summit who I did not personally greet by my rig, it's 25cents to cop a feel. Leave the quarters on the hood ...

Linex or paint is going to have nothing to do with over heating your truck.

If you coat the Radiator then you might have an issue. You are also not going to experience any heat in the cabin than you would have before. The SE edition guys have had no issues with it and there are tons of black cars on the road in the desert.

You are splitting hairs with your concern to the point that it should not be something you worry about.

Have fun at the summit guys!

Re: Meet Booger

Well I am just get settled from a nice long vacation. 7 days in the SanJuan mountains and 4 days in Moab...4000+ miles later and the rig is still running well. The linex did not change engine temperature one bit! Not in Ouray, nor in 100+ degree heat of Moab. Water temp was at 190F. So linex has no effect on Temp, actually kept my interior cooler.

I will be posting new pics soon...new Demello Rear with Moab scratches (I thought it was high clearence) ... And I will be getting back to the mods soon again. Finish the dual battery, inverter and heated seats install ... I also plan to change the inside colors a bit.

Great seeing everyone in Ouray and Moab .. now to clean off all of the greasy finger prints on my rig.

I am going with a Xantrex XPOWER 1500
1500W continues
3000W peak
0.3Amp no load draw

I have the perfect spot for it and a perfect grounding location, to save on cable length.
More details soon. I hope to work on it this weekend a bit, but I may go to LegoLand with the kid! Ouray was more for me...now it's the kids turn

That's the one. Great value for what it provides. Looking forward to where you put it. I want to put one in mine as well.
