Oz can't see out anymore :mecry:
The above is what I have done over the last few Months.
I have had my FJ for less then a year and she has completely transformed.
The last few weeks I have been prepping her for Linex, Snorkel,
1500W inverter and heated Seats.
Here is the progress so far. Booger will be done for the Summit.
Al, looking good! I would like to see more pictures of the paint job. Maybe from different lighting and angles? You've put a lot of work into this one.:bigthumb:
Thanks gang...I'll most definitely will add more pics as soon as I start getting Booger together.
The linex dude did a good job, except that he broke the latch mechanism for the rear door. So I will have to remove it and see if I can fix it. I have a lot of panels to put back on and a lot of rewiring..installing my Dual Batt system too....uch I think I am almost in over my head...1 week before the Summit.
LOL, I actually do not have any diet coke in it. PEPSI one for me I didn't have much of a choice in the vending machine, since I got it for 450$ off of ebay.
Wheels...I mentioned a link above .. but here it is again .. link here They are 16" soft 8's with a 5" back spacing.
Outer panels, because this is where all of our FJs will rust out first. Here and the rockers. You have no idea how much mud gets stuck in there. Those of us in salt states will rust out faster.
If you meant the inside, well, to be able to spray OD on the door edges and Linex on the lower edges...plus I needed almost all panels out anyways to wire CB and Inverter.
Not just the roof ... I also got rid of that cheap vinyl around the windows and linex the window borders. Linex'd the mirrors and grill in black :rocker:
You can't see it well in those pics, but all the trim around the front window is removed and linex'd as well.
Well...I got the upper panel above the windshield back on and the liitle quarter pieces in front of the A pillars. But my A-Pillars wouldn't go on. The guy actually linex'd where the A-Pillars go. So I had to cut that off, went well...and in the process discovered something that the guy is going to hear about on Monday. Left side A-Pillar, looks like they didn't remove the screw on the inside and tore it out. Screw hole is tweaked. Right side, the idiot linex'd over a pop clip. Funny thing is, I even printed instructions for the A-Pillar and upper trim removal from AutoGlass mag.
Anyways, I think removing the linex from this area will allow the A-pillar covers to pop into place. Truck is now outside drying...I gave the area where linex was removed 4 layers of paint.
Here are two pics...one with pop clip still in the A-Pillar and the other of the jacked A-Pillar screw hole ...
On a side not, I was able to fix my rear lock mechanism that he broke...a bit of JB weld did the job...saved a $200 part
I like it a lot, that's going to look sweet when it's all back together. I know I saw someone else either here or on TTORA who had done one in red line-x, which I didn't care for, but yours is going to look bad@ss. No more pin-stripes either.
