Re: My budding love affair

Thanks much! For the price I was extremely happy. I had quotes 3x of what I wound up paying.

Hey, nice setup!
Looks like I'll be following in some of your footsteps.
You have the same wheels I plan on getting soon.

Re: My budding love affair

Thanks! Yeah it did come across real shiny in those pics.

I wish I had a pic of my old Ram Charger. I really have to dig around somewhere. It was brown with a black soft top & eventually I picked up a roof at a junk yard....white of all colors! I didn't realize the irony of this until a month or 2 after I bought this.

Lately, I've actually been considering the idea of painting it some shade of brown & completely scrapping the black. Maybe going for a 2 tone brown/black look. I feel like all black limits your ability to be creative if you arent into chrome or the blacked out look.

If I could afford 2 of them, I would paint one just like my old truck.

We will see....

Re: My budding love affair

No big shakes but I got my trail gear sliders in over the weekend. I'm diggin them big time. I played with the idea of painting them some type of silver but left them alone at the moment. The pic kinda sucks but you guys have seen these a time or 2 before. Now that I have those on here, it made me realize how dorky the Westin nerf bars looked.

I also picked up the rest of the cargo mats for the inside and my second net pocket for the rear door. The carpet mats got so trashed in just a few months of winter. They fit so much better & they don't move. I wish I got them sooner. I may wait to put the second rear door pocket in. Of course just after I ordered it, I started to think about mounting something else there like a shovel or whatever.

Wheels are coming in a week or so, then a sunroof in the following weeks.
When the weather gets a little better, I'm gonna start getting dangerous with some interior mods. Some electrical, some cosmetic.

I'm going to "try" to wait on new tires & a lift until after the summer but we'll see how well that goes. I also have 2 frickin dings to fix, moldings to put up and some paint touch up as well. My birthday is in June so maybe my gf will ante up something

Re: My budding love affair

DId you get rid of the nerf bars? I'd like the rock sldiers but I dont plan on any heavy duty trailing right now. My wife needs help getting into the truck and those round bars on the sliders make for an exciting entrance/exit when they are wet. Who knows... maybe I will end up getting the slidders.

I still have them & I'd like to sell them. They are only 6 months old. I think new they are like $250-300, but I'd get rid of them for $150 (buyer pays shipping of choice).

These sliders are great but they can get slippery. A lot of people put grip tape on them to help but most complain about scraping their legs on it on the way out of the truck so very strategic placement is necessary.

Re: My budding love affair

I just installed a set of Trail Gears on my step dad's FJ last week! I was a little nervous about swapping the brake line brackets out, but actually doing it was cake!

Looks good, now you just need to drive down to Texas so I can see them
Are you going to Summit? Nice deal on some stock sliders @ $150.00 too
