TOYFJC's Atomic Number 22 build

To start off I thought I should show you what I had to give up in order to get the FJ.
98 Tahoe 2 door

and my 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T

OK I'm over it now and on to the FJ. Here it is how I bought it.

It didn't take long for the MOD bug to bite me and here is how it started:
First I had to get a little more ground clearance with the OME lift, mediums in front and rear.

Next up I needed some front end protection in the form of ARB greatness. I remember it like it was yesterday, and I felt like a little kid on christmas day.

After my first two larger purchases, the money tree in my yard stopped blooming so I had to work on some smaller projects.
Added a Cobra CB mounted to the roof above the rear view mirror, and wired my Valentine 1 radar detector.

Then added some power outlets in the pillar for the CB and a future GPS.

Also put on the Bandi Mount, and added some stickers ( for extra horsepower of course ).

Then I started working on the best mod I have added yet....my version of THE BOX.
This is what I had to start with and it seemed as if it was always in the way.

So after a few stolen ideas I began working with wood (not my specialty)

I then talked my wife into letting me get new tires and steelies so I could use the vehicle the way it was intended. So I bought a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/70/17.

In the last month I have tried to concentrate on the mods that make my FJ more user friendly for me, so I added:
Ventvisors,
rear door storage net,
IPF fog light inserts for the ARB,
FourTreks Hi lift and axe and shovels mounts,
and Hi lift jack.

Then realized after the last wheeling trip that the side steps had to go, so I bought a set of the ARB rails with the sliders.

I have also swapped the the Nitto's onto the factory aluminum wheels, so hopefully I can purchase some mud terrains for the steelies.
And here is how it sits today, but stay tuned I think I see some new buds on the money tree.

Re: TOYFJC's Atomic Number 22 build

That was a great looking Tahoe. I had a '93 Blazer 2 door (exact same truck) in white and black, lifted 3 inches with 33 inch ATs. It was a great rig. 400,000 kms on the original 350. Had it for 300k of those. I miss it a lot, but if it had to be replaced, my FJ was a good next move. Great looking FJ.
