Most folks install a Toytec diff drop kit that lowers the diff about an inch and puts the CVs at a much better angle when lifted.
I don't know if running the 6" lift drop bracket would work with a 3" as the bump drops are needed to prevent too much up travel. So you'd probably be riding around on the bump stops. If you didn't install the lowered bump stops, then your suspension would have too much up travel and would probably toast the CVs faster.
