dwm2112...I would like to say thanks for keeping everyone informed of the lift kits you have installed so far. I recently purchased OME lift kit 884/895e kit and its sitting in my dining room. I don't have a lot of time to install it right now, but I am considering exchanging it for Toytec ULK. I'm just curious if you regret switching from OME to Toytec BOSS considering the shock failures you have experienced. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's rubbing on the body mount for sure towards the back of the front wheel well. Another FJC forum member here in Charlotte recommended a mechanic who has done several BMCs for FJ owners. I met with him and he also recommended getting some aftermarket UCAs ... Icon UCAs. There are so many mods that I want to get but for now I just need to stop the rubbing issue so I don't damage these new MTRs that I just bought. The wheel offset seems to have a lot to do with the issue because when I bought the FJ it had the same lift and 33x12.5x18 with Enkei wheels and there was no noticeable rubbing on the body mount but a little on the UCAs. The new wheels definitely have a different offset because the tires stick out a lot more than they did before and they are not wider tires.

Do you have any opinion (either good or bad) on BMCs? It seems safe from what I have read on the forum, but I know it is not reversible and that worries me a little bit.

    Thx

dwm2112 ... from the pic that I have seen on one of your posts, it looks like you have the same wheels that I have (16x8 MB wheels matte black) and I also have 305/70R16 tires (mine are goodyear MTRs). I'm having an issue with the tires rubbing on the frame with my current lift, which was installed before I bought my FJ. I'm not exactly sure what type of lift it is but the coils and struts are stock (or seem to be) and there are spacers in front and back. I noticed that the front spacer only measures about 2 inches so it looks like just a 2 inch lift. Do you think I would still get some rubbing if I went with a true 3 inch lift (either toytech or OME)? I have an aftermarket bumper (ARB) which is heavy so I probably need to upgrade the front suspension anyway, but I would rather not have to resort to a body chop. Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Can send you a pic of my FJ upon request. Thank you!!
