Who is Metal-tech?

Who is Metal-tech?

Happy to have Metal-tech as a forum supporter! This is Mark here some of you may have met me at some of the TLCA events. Metal-tech has been making Land Cruiser parts exclusively for the last six years. We are known in the FJ40 world for our custom roll cages we build and ship all over the world. We also build advanced body armor for the FZJ80 Landcrusiers (1993-1997 trucks) as well.

At the beginning of last year we made a custom front bumper for the FJ Cruiser for an owner of a Toyota dealership. Since then we have worked on new custom parts for the FJC. Last September we were ask by Factory Toyota if we were interested in making a rear tube bumper for a display FJC, but we only had two weeks to do it! We delivered in time for the truck to go to SEMA for display. As a thank you Toyota sold us our FJC directly so now we have our Metal-tech FJ Cruiser!

We are picking our best custom FJC parts we have made this last year and will be adding them to our web site in the next few months. In the mean time we are a STOCKING distributor for:

Old Man Emu:
Best performance economy suspension kit avlaible (but you knew that!)

ARB:
Proven bumpers and recovery gear

Sway-a-way:
The absolute best high performance, competition level suspension kit for the FJ Cruisers.

If you have any questions please let us know!
1-800-839-0684 or info@metaltech4x4.com

Both myself (Mark) or LT will be happy to help you.

I am planning on a complete thread on its build up as we have a few TLCA events in the middle of it. (Cruise Moab 2007 in Moab UT, this next week and then off to the Great Smoky Mt. Trail Ride or GSMTR in Tennessee two weeks after Moab)

I am not one to leave things too stock just look at the photos of our other shop truck:

(Note: the build for this truck is at: Cutting fenders and Paint for CM06 - IH8MUD.com Forum)

For now, as requested this is what our FJC looked like last Friday! (Ya still no plates on it and less than 1k on the clock)

After spending two days prepping it out its now out getting new paint!

Yup its going to be the same Orange as the FZJ80 is.

This orange is not just a random color, its factory Toyota orange! You can still order an 80 sires in South America in this color. In the early 1970’s Toyota painted a small number of FJ55’s in this same orange with white tops. Our FJ Cruiser will be painted like one of those rare 1973 FJ55’s all in original Toyota colors!

(Ok and my 4 yr son old loves orange too!)

He's not the only one that likes orange.

Do you have that paint code?

Yes. They gave the shop that made the front bumper some time to make the rear but they could not get it done. For SEMA Toyota wanted a rear matching bumper for the show. We were ask if we could deliver and did so in two weeks from concept to a bolt on powder coated finished bumper. Here is what it looked like:

Our production tube rear bumper looks similar with a few refinements put in place based on feed back we got.

Yup! T-308

PPG has the mix code. This is what I shot the 80 in. For the FJC I am having a pro paint it rather than a couple of fabricators doing it!

I will have a formal post showing the whole process once I have more stuff to share on it.
