Re: Any news on the MT front tube bumpers?

I got my tube bumper with aluminum bash plate in today. Everything looks great except i was dissappointed that the aluminum bash plate was not powdercoated black like the picture shows on their website. I will be giving them a call in the morning. It just doesnt look right with the bumper all black it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I think the bashplates on the website are the steel ones. There is really no need to powdercoat the aluminum bashplates as they won't rust. If you want it black you could grab some spray paint and hit it with a few coats. Easier to touch up too.

Re: Any news on the MT front tube bumpers?

yeah, the steel bash plates were pc'd black, al were raw to add a little 'bling'. i actually like it raw because i know im going to do something to it to personalize it a little. ive thought about having the 'fj' letters put in it or something.

nothing is ever good enough, right? no offense to mt, u guys make great stuff, just gotta keep pushing the ceiling, right?

Re: Any news on the MT front tube bumpers?

I am currently doing another batch of tube bumpers as well speak. They should be back from the powder coater by next week sometime. If anyone would like to get on a pre-order list give me a call at 503-822-1111 and i'll take down your information. We will not charge anyone until the bumper is ready to ship out that day, that is our standard company policy.

If here has been anyone else that was on the original pre-order list please let me know. There have been some names lost in the shuffle of papers and I want to make sure those are satisfied. Thank you.

Re: Any news on the MT front tube bumpers?

Im wondering if the bash plate will cause any overheating? since its blocking off the flow of air to the radiatior... Im thinking if i should make some holes to allow airflow.

The bash plate will not cause any over heating. This is a tube bumper and the air will flow around the bash plate. You would be more prone to over heating if you were running a shell bumper and that doesn't even happen. Heat can escape better with the tube bumper since there is nothing in the radiators way.

Desert racers have been using this style of bash plate for years and still continue to use this style to date.
