can we see a profile shot?

Just happen to also take that shot. Here you can see part of the independent winch mount. We do not use the 1/8” thick bumper flange off the face of the frame, to mount both the bumper and a winch mount. The winch mount is 100% separate and mounts off the hard points on the side of the frame. The bumper mounts only off the stock bumper mounting points.
Q: Why do it this way, would it be cheaper to make it all one unit?
A: #1 This puts the stress of the winch where it belongs and is behind the four-crumple points that the bumper is mounted off. (Don’t want to put a winch in front of those points, not one with our name on it!)
#2 This allows keeping the weight of the winch mount out of the bumper so those that chose to not run a winch don’t have to haul the weight. (As in 40lbs weight loss!) Yet at the same time if you want to add it down the road you can.
#3 Cheep is low on our list of priorities, value yes (see #2 for that). Parts with our name on them are meant to be used. Ask anyone running our parts, this is our 7th year so there are a few out there. (FJ40 and FZJ80, ask on
IH8MUD.com - "The Truth is in the Rocks" or
Pirate4x4.Com about our parts)
#4 Two part system makes for a quick one person installation w/ the easiest winch install ever. Easiest winch install ever.
