So word today from Mark is my Metal-Tech step sliders are "in the loop" and on the way!
Woo-Hoo!
I can't stress enough to everyone out there what a great company this is, and to Mark - perhaps the best customer service oriented "business owner" I have ever dealt with. Never, has the instance existed that Metal-Tech hasn't stepped up to keep me posted of EVERYTHING to do with my purchase. From shipping details to friendly tips and advice that other's would charge for, all has been quickly offered by Mark and the gang up in Oregon.
Thanks for everything guys, and keep it up! You have a repeat customer in me for a long time to come...
Edit / Update:
Back from Line-X and installed on the rig with custom 304SS washers made up at my shop...Love these things!
Match the factory styling and looks very well, and seem to "belong" on this truck -like the factory should have done.

What made you go with the metal Tech over lets say the Trail-Gear sliders? Do you think there is better protection?

1. First and foremost - experience with the company from purchasing my SAW front and rear kits from them. Couldn't have been a better experience, and I know they are there to answer my questions and help out with any issues.
2. There are quite a few sliders out there for the FJ. Many are the same 'ol thing that any another mfrs/sells, but I like the idea of the true step surface designed into the MT sliders. I use the step and miss it being there (from my sold running boards) - my wife and 11 yr old little girl miss them too, and I want them to join me on "family adventures" and "recon missions."
3. Combined with the relatively shorter length from the frame so as to not provide extra leverage *against* the sliders on impact, I felt they were the best for me. Also, they seem to follow the lines and styling of the vehicle much closer in its stock form - and I like that.
Really though, it all comes back to the way they handle things up there in the Northwest. I know I can count on Metal-Tech to do their part and support the product they sell. Otherwise, most sliders will do the job they are intended for, but there are a lot more positives in the step sliders for me, than there are in different brands.
I'm also getting my Metal-Tech step sliders next week. Mark said, it's a newer version with provision to mount lights. They are working on a light kit (a pair of 3" lights and wiring harness) as an option.

Lights in Sliders? I'd be interested to see how that works.

Certainly does sound interesting...lighted trail right next to the rig - hhmmm?
I guess I'll see what that's all about soon. S/B on UPS for delivery Wed. 5-21-08, then off to Line-X for the top surface of the step. With any luck, back and installed by the weekend and off to Holy Jim perhaps to test them out on some stuff.
you really should try their front bumper... i was very happy at the way they took care of my business also.
glad you are happy too!
Yeah, I know - their front bumper is way cool and really the type I want to go with. I'm just more into the pre-runner style bumpers and such, and the MT fits that bill very well with the strength and integrity to back it up.
When it comes time to do the front bumper (and maybe rear?), I easily see myself going Metal-Tech.
Mine are also scheduled for (UPS) delivery tomorrow, 5/21/08.

I ordered a set of sliders from Metal-Tech. I made arrangements for them to deliver them to the Summit. This will save me duty plus shipping, that will save me a bundle. If any one is going to the summit I will be looking for volunteers to install the sliders. As incentive a cold amber beverage my be served for your troubles. I'm sure I will be offering the folks of Metal-Tech the same.
