FJs in Richmond, Indiana

I was checking inventory on Toyota's website the other day and the dealership in Richmond, Indiana listed nine FJs in inventory. I am wondering if they were including incoming stock in this number.

Anyone know how they deal up there ?

Re: FJs in Indiana

Not sure about Richmond...but have you checked Andy Mohr Toyota in Avon,IN ? They are one of the largest Toyota Dealers in the Midwest and they always seem to have a few FJs on the lot. I had no issues there when I bought my FJ...the price was fair and the extras were very nice.

Re: FJs in Indiana

Called up Richmond, Toyota tonight and asked if they really had nine FJs in inventory and the salesman (who goes by the nickname Sarge) said they only had eight left as they just sold a Voodoo blue.

Keep in mind, I am an hour away but I drove up there to check 'em all out . . . of course, he was full of SH*T ! They had one Sun Fusion in the showroom and that was it. Sarge wasn't there when I arrived so I couldn't take out my frustrations on the other salesperson who, by the way, was very helpful and willing to deal in order to meet there quota.

It turns out the company that owns this dealership also owns others and they claim to have those FJs in their hands and available to sell but they are in other locations.

The sun fusion I looked at was $28,600 sticker plus some crappy $700 accessory package, and additional dealer markup of $1050. In order to meet the sales quota he was willing to go $28,000 . . . and I bet a guy could get some add-ons thrown in at dealer cost without much fuss.

I wasn't willing to pull the trigger as I explained to the salesperson that I was told they had eight in stock and I expected to see a row of them that I could compare and drool over. . .

Re: FJs in Indiana

Woodsman,

I live in Bloomington and after forgetting my lubricant at the local dealer (it really was that bad of an experience) we drove up to Beck, Andy Mohr in Avon, and Butler up north, and a few others. Andy Mohr had listed 22 on Autotrader, and although I had called up there and, of course, confirmed that they did NOT have 22, the salesman told me they had a few in stock. We got there and they didn't have ANY.

To make a long, painful car dealership story short, we got such a good deal out the gate with Beck (not even close to any other dealership's price) that we bought from them and actually told Mr. Beck, the owner, what a good experience we had there. We have NEVER done that before. If you are interested, go there and see what they can offer you and what they have in stock (they sell FJ's at a high rate there, but they can tell you in a couple of week time frame what they have coming in).

Re: FJs in Indiana

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a trip to Avon may be in the works.

Re: FJs in Indiana

No No No don't go to Avon! Go to Greenwood - Beck Toyota! Andy Mohr "we list 22 FJ's on Autotrader but we really don't have any" is in Avon. Not recommended. Good luck!

Re: FJs in Indiana

I got my FJ in Elgin, IL but Andy Mohr is my closest dealership for service. They SOMETIMES have a blue or a yellow FJ sitting out front but half the time one or the other is gone. Seems to be a weird system going on over there. Nice to deal with for service however.

Thanks sholtzma...I brain-farted on the response. Greenwood is closer.
