I spent the weekend in the Lake Cumberland/Jamestown area over fall break. Didn't see a single FJ down that way. Some of locals were checking out my rig like they've never seen one before.
Lake Cumberland is way low because they have been working on the dam. We stayed at the State park lodge. Second right on the 5 mile state park road is "Old Rowena Road".
This road runs down to the water line and you can drive along the shore for a ways. Mostly shale and sand stone, but a fun run. They are going to fill that lake back up soon and the opportunity to sneak a wheel in along the shore will be over.
We found tons of geodes (sp) laying around too (small ones). Y'all go check it out if you get a chance.
We also hit Mammoth Cave on the way back, first time in there. Pretty cool..
I just discovered this thread and I am from Kentucky, when not traveling out West. I am back in Grand Rivers at present and will be here until it gets too cold, then maybe Baja for the winter.
