Took the annual trip to the UP this summer. Wheeled for 2 days out of 5, that's not too bad.
FJ did great all the way up to Chicago for the first stop, then to Marquette the next day. No problems at all. Unless you count poor gas mileage. I got 15-16 mpg due to the roof rack being loaded down with recovery stuff and baggage. A wife, dog, me and other junk adds to the weight on the inside, too.
Wish I had pics of everywhere I went, but alas, I had to drive and my passengers just didn't embrace thie duties as much as I had hoped.
The first day of wheelin' would take us to the highest point in Michigan, Mt. Arvon. It was about an hour or so west of Marquette. Here are some pics on the way up.
Side note: Some Canadians claimed they spotted Bigfoot in the UP, so the hunt was on!

Here's a video of the "Trailhead" to the peak. The F150 4x4 made it to the top, too. Just with lots more pinstriping.

--------------Day 2---------------
The next day we went to Gobbler's Knob, a peak on some rocky terrain which ends in a great view.

A tiny bit of the view, should have tried a panoramic. There are lots of little islands to look at in Lake Superior.

A tree harvester. Hippies love 'em.
We then drove back to Texas by way of St.Louis and the FJ did great once again. I rewarded him with 30k sched maint and a pat on the backside.
He ate some bugs, too.
Thanks for looking.
