Re: McCaslin Mountain, WI run. Sept 28-30

Well my weekend is going down the tubes fast. It's not looking to good for me right now, I am hoping I can get out of here but right now I can't say for sure. Could someone email me their cell number and I will let you know when or if I will be able to make it.

Thanks - Jimmy

Going for sure, my friend matt might be there early and I might not be able to meet up with the group at the wisconsin meeting point, but we will be there a hour later or so if we can't make it

Re: McCaslin Mountain, WI run. Sept 28-30

I feel like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Three long rides more fun than a short yellow bus on a field trip. We couldn't have picked a better weekend to do it! Fall color changes in the Northwood's, trails from fun to harsh, mud over the door sills, and enough rocks to to build Boulder Dam. My thanks to Not-His-FJ (Charity and Chris) their good friends Jason and Bri in a Tacoma, DubKapke (Mr. Woodchuck and his buddy Eric), AVNinja (Andy and his buddies John and Matthew.) You guys made this trip a barrel of laughs and great trail mates!

Damage report:
PhilC64: Left bumper wings - front and rear damaged but in place. Front lower grill damaged should be repairable. Skid plate severely banged up along with 2 sheared bolts. Minor trail rash.
AVNinja: One fried alternator and minor trail rash.
Not-His-FJ: Tailpipe gone missing. Trail rash.
Jason: Dents in a couple of spots. Minor Trail Rash.
DubKapke: Water in the interior. One beat up Ricky Ricardo look-alike passenger. Minor trail rash.

Phrases that paid:
Deer? What deer?
Turkey!! Where's my shotgun?
Woodchuck made a funny.
Machete?! I'm not doing that one again!
Mud, Rocks, and chicken!
D@%k's, P@%&k's and bbq sauce!
For an extra quarter I could have rubbed one off!

I'd say we had fun.

I'll post pics in the am.

Re: McCaslin Mountain, WI run. Sept 28-30

We Had An Awesome time. Phil Thanks for spotting when my spotter went missing

You forgot the part where you were lost for 3 hours, Man Me and Marie were really getting worried there for a bit!

I had the best time driving there! (except for that one time comming down that ravein AHHHHHHHHHHHH.) but for the most part Phil and Chris kept me going no matter what. (even going through that HUGE mud hole right Phil....hahahaha)

Phil Forgot some of our Damage:
Tailpipe Gone
Dent in the Rock Rail ( i really think Chris did it )
Chris took a boulder underneath the front right end and now the door has alittle problem opening
the rear left end in front of the tire the black molding popping off
Winch took a S$$T
OHHH and our pulleys are going out after that mud hole in the gravel pit. She doesnt sound to happy now.

Oh and the part where chris let an 8 yr old drive the FJ to get it out of the mud.

Notice our FJ is starting the rippl affect in the front end Chris made it worst this weekend hehe i try to tell ya if you put chris behind the wheel Something Happens!! lol

And When you guys were lost for that 3 hours and there was a deer running Right next to Our FJ down the middle of the road.

Great group of ppl! Andy you did AWESOME for your frist time!! AND A STICK! Im sure Chris will have more to say Ill get Pics up Real soon PHIL YOU TOO!!!! It was the Most Calm Weekend Trail riding that i have ever been on. The Trees were so pretty. Speeding was a factor in some spots ( i wanted to try the baja effect!) lol

Re: McCaslin Mountain, WI run. Sept 28-30

I had a great time!!!!!! Thanks to everyone for the weekend. I'll add to my trail damage report; a nice log hole in one of my cat's. I was wondering why my milage was so crappy on the way home. Here are a couple of pics:

My favorite, Chris' 8 year old sone driving out of a mud pit.

An attempt at an insane cliff.

And the cause of 4 inches of water in my interior.

More pics to follow.

Re: McCaslin Mountain, WI run. Sept 28-30

I think I went in way to slow. I did end up getting out on my own but it took a few minutes. It also didn't help that when I first went in, I was in 2WD. I was unimpressed by the door seals though. It started to take water after only a minute.
