Re: FJ cruiser trail team @ The Cliffs, IL. October 20
This is just a simple question that may offend, but I got to be honest. What can I look forward to as far as body dammage/scratching?
I want to have some fun, but I am (admitidly) not a very experience off-road driver. I'm gonna try and be out there. The FJ got keyed-up pretty good by some random vandal, and I just got it repainted, so I'm all touchy with it again.

I am thinking about showing up. Do you think it will be any worse than this?
It all depends on how hard you want to wheel your rigs! The place is maintained pretty well and as 4Rnr stated Trail 10 is quite wide with minimal chances for trail rash. I for one am heading out with the Trail 10 group because of that! Not a whole heck of a lot of rocks/boulders to deal with there, just mostly muck and mud. You'll have fun with whatever Trail you run.
I got more trail rash at Mt. McCaslin on freshly cut trails than I did at the Cliff's.

Re: FJ cruiser trail team @ The Cliffs, IL. October 20
It has been raining, but from what I understand, they have not had more than 1 inch of rain total over the last 4 days. That is not too bad. It will still be fun, and messy!!!
Dress right, tie the shoes on tight and maybe put some garbage bags over your seats if you plan on moving around on foot at all!!
Re: FJ cruiser trail team @ The Cliffs, IL. October 20
I went out to The Cliffs today and the conditions are perfect.I was out there last weekend and it was a dust storm, but the ground should have enough moisture on it to keep the dust to a minimum. There was standing water, but really only in the ruts. Also, the depth of the creek is just deep enough to have some fun. See you all tomorrow.
