Off-road friendly Dealers in the Midwest

We all hear of the not-so-friendly dealerships in the Midwest who refuse to cover possible warranty issues when the FJ is used off-road. I'd like to turn that around and show who really puts the word "service" into action. If you have a dealer in your area that has covered warranty issues without too much of a fight, we'd all like to hear about it!

I know for a fact that Northbrook Toyota has been fair in all my warranty dealings with them! The Assistant Service Managers Reggie Price and Torious Johnson have been nothing but outstanding. When I blew my trans last March after a Cliff's run, they covered it without question! Since then, instead of doing my own regular service I take it to them. I also get a fair amount of service offers and discount coupons and make regular use of them. (Last oil change cost me $16 with my coupon! Yeah I'm cheap!)

Tell us where these folks are located, maybe give a link, and then a small story of why these guys are fair in your book!

Re: Off-road friendly Dealers in the Midwest

Smart Motors in Madison,WI. When i was there for TRD exhaust and CAI, i ended up chatting with the service manager Michelle for 20 minutes or so. The whole discussion was about having fun with my FJ and enjoy it, in other words go wild on snow, she hinted to me about disabling the VSC, she is great. She also ended up telling me how she has a TRD tacoma and that she likes it and never complains about it. The dealership also has nice services especially that they opened their new 44 bay service department. As i was getting my oil change today, some guy working there also asked the people waiting if anyone needs a ride. To me, they are nice and helpful.

Lombard toyota has been good so far! So good infact that they fix my issues and say that there was nothing wrong with the truck! Call it a cover up or call it good service, I don't care either way, my truck was taken care of in the best way!

Re: Off-road friendly Dealers in the Midwest

I have always been curious about Lombard Toyota, they do have a lot of FJ's but they always have one Blinged Out and on display. (I am assuming this is the BIG dealership on Roosevelt Rd, right?)

Good to know they take care of you there, I also recall a story about a screwed up window sticker and you returning your first FJ the day you bought it. That seems noteworthy here... Either way it was a fine story.

Re: Off-road friendly Dealers in the Midwest

I posted on the Badlands threat about how much fun I had and the great people I met...Did I say how much fun I had?...Anyway I happened to need a "warranty repair" on the Cruiser and used the local dealer near me (Pauly Toyota, Crystal Lake). I get a great discount on parts there. I was not sure how well they would recieve my truck since it was lifted and had mud all over it, but they did not question me or my truck and warrantied my work. The service was very good. So I'll have to give them two thumbs up for now!
