Good places to play in the snow near CHI

I figure I might as well take advantage of this LATE snow fall and find a place to play with the new FJ. Anyone have a good spot??

I am in the Grayslake/gurnee area. Get a tow strap and go pull out all your neighbors who are stuck.

I need to get one anyway - any hardware stores in the area sell them or do I need to get one online? I live right on the border of Vernon Hills, Mundelein, and Libertyville.

I drove through Long Grove and Mundelein on my way home today. A typical 1 hour commute took me two. I saw 15 cars and one semi in the ditch.

There is a 4x4 shop in McHenry that would have good tow straps, but you can get them at Pep Boys or Auto Zone as well.

Farm & Fleet across the Wisco. border or out in Woodstock carries them. There is also a 4x4 shop on 120 in McHenry that has several. I think you can even get a cheap-o at Wal-Mart.

Yeah man, on the tri-state heading north between 137 and 120 I saw at least 12 people crashed, and about 4 or 5 were semi's.

I have not really found any places to play in the snow here.

Re: Good places to play in the snow near CHI

Great. I'm still downtown right now and my typical commute takes me about 1 hour 20 min. Looks like I'm in for a looooooooong ride home.

So there's nowhere to go around here and test the FJ's snow skills?

Where is that ^^^^, Dragon????
