Doh! Way to go Joe! A few tips and clues for you folks out there. At every light where there is photo enforcement there is a sign stating such. Even if there wasn't, you can't fight it since you got caught on camera. Also those plate covers don't work and are illegal in the Peoples Socialist Republic of Illinois.
The only suggestion that would have worked is a revolving plate. Even covering it in mud wouldn't help. There is a way it can be read even while caked in mud or grime. Don't ask me how they do it. It was demonstrated to us by the contractors installing them and that particular question was asked.
