Re: Fj Stolen!! Help

The latest thing being done is flatbedding the truck. It's quick and easy to do. I don't know of too many folks taking FJ's but there is always somebody doing the odd stuff. I'll talk to a couple of fools I know and see what they say.

EDIT: I had my guy check and make sure your plates and VIN # were entered into L.E.A.D.S. and NCIC. I hate to be the pessimist here but that's essentially my job. If you do get a call from a Law Enforcement agency saying your car was recovered, you immediately call your insurance company and give them the details you have before you go to get it. Demand they make arrangements to have the car towed. The last thing you do is get upset about the condition your car is in when and if they find it. It won't be pretty. That's why you have insurance. They'll make it as good as new and you wouldn't even know it was taken when they're done with it. In the worst case scenario, you could wind up with a brand spanking new FJC to play with.

Smile Joe. In reality it's just a piece of shiny metal. It's not a loved one that something bad happened to.

Re: Fj Stolen!! Help

Sucks! I had an '86 Bronco XLT stolen in '03 right when I finished some one of a kind mods. Of course it's just a "thing" but I understand how attached you can get to a vehicle after putting hours into it.

Re: Fj Stolen!! Help

Maybe the wheels are on Craigslist....someone check. I'm not familiar with the cities there. Just a thought.

Good luck and sorry it happened.

Re: Fj Stolen!! Help

I live in NYC-I know the pain (several times over with cars and even bicycles)!

You know, I think you can still use deadly force while retrieving a stolen truck! Hope YOU catch 'em in Ga., La. or Tx!!

Many folk never make it out alive from them La. swamps!

Re: Fj Stolen!! Help

Sorry to hear about the theft chitown! I remember your rig in person and it was sweet. As someone who's had a car stolen off my driveway, I feel your pain. Best of luck setting this right!

I'll be on the lookout in Aurora/Naperville!
