I'm in South St. Louis County, currently looking to buy a new FJ. Any dealerships that you guys recommend or any to stay away from?
Bought from Lou Fusz. The sales man was nice, and they gave me a great price. However their service department SUCKS. my rear diff was leaking, they tried to tell me it was my fault for putting synthetic oil in it, wouldn't even look at it, tightened the bolts (stripped a couple) and told me to come pick it up. I complained to Toyota USA about this.
I then took it to Pappas, and they where awesome.
There is a parts guy at Ackerman on Kingshighway who is been a great help, and is a member of TLCA. I get all my parts from him, but would never get my FJ serviced there.

Bought mine from Fusz on Manchester. They dealt well enough on the price but as stated above the service dept aint' the greatest. Cost me $60 for my "Free" 1st oil change because I wanted synthetic.
I'm in Patterson 2 hours south of South County area.

Hate to hear that about the service dept at Lou Fusz. I bought my 08 4x4 Auto FJ from them at the end of December. Sticker was just at $32K and I got OTD for 23.5K. Very easy to deal with, but I guess I will avoid their service dept and use Pappas if I am forced to let the dealer work on anything. I try and do that stuff myself, but Pappas is my closest dealer anyway. I would be curious to hear what kind of deals you other St Louis area buyers were getting.

Yeah my salesman was great there, nice guy. I got mine for 21 with a sticker of 32 (I waited for the week before the 08's where shipped out to dealers)
however, the service department is a joke. I have heard other people complain while I was there too....
Guess I got shafted.. I paid $29.5 with a sticker of $32.5. That was July 07.
You didnt get shafted. You had to pay what the market dictated at the time. My guess is that at the time you bought, it was a sellers market. As opposed to when I bought. First it was the end of a month. Then you factor in it was the end of the year, and a crappy year at that. Toyota is getting hit like everyone else with the crappy economy and actually showed a loss for the first time. They are trying to roll out the 09's and really need to move product so they are offering big rebates. I wouldnt let it get you down. You still got a great truck and if you think about it, one cant buy much vehicle at all for less than $30K any more. You got a very capable off road vehicle with great on road manners and economy and one of the best resale values in the auto industry. Dont worry about it. If you are like me, you have paid a lot more for a lot less vehicle in the past. Just enjoy your truck.
