Anyone in Des Moines for a lift kit install?

Checked with Toyota Service and they want around $ 575.00 to install my 3" RC lift kit and realign the wheels.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I would do it myself but lack some of the tools needed.

Thank you in advance!

Rockford 400w Amp w/ (2) ED 8" Subs in a custom box

Looking at next:
Roof Rack (if it will still fit in the garage)
Does this list ever stop?

Re: Anyone in Des Moines for a lift kit install?

I can recommend a garage down here in Oskaloosa that is very reasonable and likely up to the task. But it is a 60 minute drive.

Take some of the money you would have used for install, buy a decent set of ratchets, sockets, and jack stands.

There are plenty of install guides on this forum and if the spacers up front mount to the top of the coilover with out needing to remove the top plate, then this saves you a trip to a mechanic shop to have them do this. If not, i would suggest taking it to a mechanic with a wall mounted spring compressor to have this done (50 bucks) then go back home and install.
Then after a few days of driving, once everything has settle a little, go get an alignment (about 50 bucks as well).

If you ever have something go wrong with your vehicle, the more you have worked on it, the more you will understand and be able to fix it yourself (aka save lots of money)

Re: Anyone in Des Moines for a lift kit install?

Gentlemen,
Thank you very much for your fast replies.
The only item for the install I am missing is the jack stands.
Maybe I should just "buck up" and do it myself.

On a side note - Hindsight, I will be coming to visit you on my next trip to Keokuk. Do you have inventory at your shop?

Once again, thank you both!

Expect the install to take about 5-6 hours if youve never done any kind of suspension work before and you are having to constantly refer to the manual.
Also, start with the front, the rear goes really quick.

Re: Anyone in Des Moines for a lift kit install?

There is another option. Frontier 4x4 in DesMoines. They do Toyotas and I've seen his work in person and it looks good. I would at least make a phone call to see what he would charge.
